John and Anne Smith love to cook, but until recently they lacked one vital ingredient - a well designed kitchen. "Our units were dated, and tired," says Anne. "The appliances were in the wrong places - and cleaning up afterwards was an effort because we had an old-fashioned hob."
Friends came to the rescue by recommending that John and Anne visit Sheffield Kitchen Outlet, where they met Kieth, the company's designer. He created the kitchen you see here, which was installed within a week at the Smith's home in Aughton, Sheffield.
The layout is L-shaped, and every inch of available space was utilised to avoid the cramped feeling that John and Anne had experienced while cooking. There is a breakfast bar, a concealed refrigeration, an in-built Neff microwave oven, and a conventional cooker.
Each storage unit is deep, with a black-gloss finish. The pale worktops and splashback are by Mistral, and made from a non-porous alternative to granite that doesn't mark. Centre-stage is an induction hob, that is easy to wipe clean. Says Anne: "I can't recommend SKO enough. Our new kitchen is exactly what we wanted. The designer and fitters were fantastic from start to finish. We're delighted with the results."
